Last night was yet another fabulous Fleur de Lethal Cinemateque event; this time around, the film was Velvet Goldmine -- Todd Hayne's ultra-saturated, ultra-decadent mindfucklovenote to 70s Glam Rock era. David Bowie's real-life career mingled with the saga of his Ziggy Stardust persona with shades of Jobriath thrown in for color, an Iggy Pop/Lou Reed hybrid who grows old to resemble Kurt Cobain, Mark Bolan/Brian Eno/Bryan Ferry as represented by an uber-fey installation that never speaks...all wrapped up in celluloid, like a piece of candy.
JLA: Justice For All -- Grant Morrison, et al Always gotta have some superhero stuff.
Clarissa, or the History of a Young Lady -- Samuel Richardson My Summer epic; though, this one will probably stretch through Autumn and on into Winter.
House of Mirth -- Edith Wharton A nice follow-up to reading Mrs Dalloway
Tuesday evening, after the jaunt out to the coast, I met up with Jay, David, Kevin, Mike, and Joe for dinner at Bernie's Southern Bistro on NE Alberta.

And here's one more, courtesy of Jay (Mike had the camera):
Tuesday, 6/16, was my 29th birthday. I took the day off of work and my friend Jay accompanied me out to the Oregon coast. We made stops in both Wheeler and Rockaway Beach -- two places that, while not too far from Cannon Beach and Seaside, are far enough off the beaten path that there were hardly any other people around other than those who seemed like locals.
As the title implies, you'll find a bit of everything here -- thoughts, expressions, opinions, likes, dislikes, current points of interest, random bits of my everyday life, etc.
You'll also find some of my photogrpahy here as well.
